Just a little introduction:
Hey! It’s great to meet you! My name is Kellen and I’m really looking forward to being able to share my passions and interests with you. Everyone has a story, and you’ll get to know about mine throughout this blog. My prayer is that you find information that is useful and relatable, unique, and just flat out interesting.
First, a little about me. I live in a small-ish town in southern Idaho and am a mother of 4 amazing kids. My husband is a blue-collar worker, and I own a small business called Apothecary Holistic Healing place. There, we sell herbs and herbal products, crystals and jewelry, candles and more. We are a collaboration of individual holistic practitioners who operate from inside Apothecary to provide our small community with services that may not otherwise be as readily available. We’re pretty proud of what we’ve got going on there. Within the apothecary, I practice as an herbalist, and am also a licensed nail technician. We have a thai bodyworker, shamanic healer, licensed esthetician, medical esthetician, and a mental health therapist. We’re also always looking to add more modalities of holistic practitioners to our group – so we’ll see what the Universe will bring down the pike for us as we continue to grow our tribe.
Aside from the apothecary, we recently decided to make the transition to becoming a homeschooling family. Additionally – my husband and I are both paid-on-call firefighters! Naturally, this comes with its own set of unique circumstances of stories and challenges, which I can’t wait to share with you later on! As a former military member who also contracted overseas, I have lots of interesting perspectives and experiences and find that I relate to all kinds of kinds.
In my personal time I enjoy going hiking and seeking out pieces of nature that keep me most grounded. However, my happiest place has always been in the water. I connect so much with water and feel I am most at home in the ocean – what a plot twist for this desert/mountain girl! I feel joy in all seasons and find that I am most able to reflect on what has become quite the interesting and unconventional life – of which, I’m looking forward to sharing more and more about.
I recently decided to start this blogging journey because frankly, I’ve struggled for many years with trying to figure out my purpose in life. God has protected me in the most profound ways and guided me through some of the trying situations and yet, I’ve often questioned, “Why did you do all that, God?”. Recently, a client pointed out to me that my greatest purpose may in fact be sharing the lessons that this life has brought to me in order to help people who may also be struggling with finding their place or finding someone who can relate. As long as I am able to add value to the lives of others – I feel I will succeed at meeting my purpose – so here we go!!
